Happy Holidays

It’s the week of Christmas and there is excitement in the air! Meals are being planned, gifts are being wrapped, and families are gathering. There is a lot going on in our house holds right now, and even the family pets are getting excited. If you are the proud owner of a cat or dog, you’re probably thinking about some cute gifts you can get your furry friend for this holiday. There are a lot of great options out there right now, but one of the best gifts you can give your pet this holiday is to keep him or her safe and healthy! Nothing can ruin a fun holiday season like a visit to the pet emergency clinic. So, here are a couple of pointers for keeping your pet safe. When wrapping presents, make sure you watch that your pet isn’t chewing on any strings or any other present-wrapping materials, especially cats. Sometimes a sparkling string is too much fun to ignore! Also, try not to feed too many table scraps to your dog or cat. Sometimes feeding table scraps can cause stomach issues such as diarrhea and vomiting. There are a few other things that can lead to holiday hazards. For more information, check out this link from the Pet Poison Control. From all of us at Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic, we hope you enjoy a safe and happy holiday!
